Asher had stopped the car, having arrived at the location. They were parked in front of a dock with various boats anchored to the deck. He turned off the car and turned to Tem, looking her in the eye. He could see the worry etched on her face and could hear the shaken tone in her voice. It worried him, and suddenly he just wanted to hold her, as if expecting the worst to come out of her mouth. But he didn’t. He just gave her hand a squeeze to reassure her, because this was something that obviously she had been holding in and Asher wanted her to know she could tell him anything. Because she could. He loved her, so much and he wanted her to trust him. He would never judge her for anything or leave her because of some mistakes she made in the past. It’d have to be a hell of a lot more for him to do that. “Ok babe. You don’t have to tell me now if you’re not ready. You can always tell me later.”

As they pulled up to the dock, she smiled, the view of the ocean seeming endless and beautiful and all the birds making the whole place look picturesque. It was lovely and being here with Asher was even lovelier. She smiled at him and stepped out of the car, the topic leaving her mind for a moment as she felt the cool California breeze surround her.

She entwined their fingers and walked to the edge of the dock, sitting down and dipping her feet into the cold ocean water before turning to face Asher and taking in another breath. “I want to tell you. And if I don’t do it now, I won’t end up doing it. And I don’t want to scare you because I’m making it seem big and bad and-” the brown eyed girl stopped and caught herself, halting the rambling she habitually went into when she got nervous. Touching his arm, she let a small smile come onto her face. “It’s not that bad really. Promise.”

“You know Warner Studios?” she inquired slowly, deciding to start from the top and work her way down.

He nodded as she explained her time with Madeline, laughing along with her and when she was done he hummed in amusement. “No, I’m not lost. I know exactly where we’re going jerk. I got this babe, just sit tight ok.” His hand found hers and curled around her fingers between. He accepted her extra weight against him and leaned into her as well, taking another turn when she brought up her brother. He knew she had many. Seven if he remembered right. “How was it? Seeing your brother again? I’d love to meet him sometime soon.” He continued to drive, the location becoming closer and closer by the minute. He kissed her forehead when she turned to him, then focused back on the road.

“Good, good. He’s… good.” Tempest replied slowly, unsure of how deep to get into the conversation but deciding that it was now or never. And when she felt his fingers wrap around hers she nodded to herself, knowing that he’d deal with this and maybe split the burden with her.”I want you to meet him eventually.” she grinned lightly, glancing out the window, slight confusion evident in her face about their whereabouts.

“Hey, Ash. I… need to tell you some stuff about… my family.” she said slowly, taking in a shaky breath and smiling at him to make it seem like everything was fine, even when this topic was really something that shattered her. “They’re… not really relevant in my life and I think you should know why.” Tempest finished, giving his hand a small squeeze as he kept on driving.

lola-styless:

Aw I really want to impress everyone and show them I can bake too. The main problem of this is not to burn it. Which I might.

Aww sweetie you’ll impress no matter what.

Hah, I would burn it toooo. So I can’t help much.

“Well that’s good, I’m glad.” she said in approval, smiling at his words. “You’re too sappy babe.” Tempest joked, kissing his cheek. “But hey, that’s what we do right? Just, be there for each other.” she said with a smile, happy that finally she had helped him…

“Well. Madeline did look fabulous thanks to me styling her and making sure they didn’t publish any bad articles and the media and press and wow. It could have been just me and her and the tour would have been the same.” she joked, realizing just how much she had taken on. It was amusing really, that she didn’t eve realize how much she was doing when it was supposed to be overwhelming her. She shoved him playfully but then sighed in defeat, nodding. “Yes. That is one thing I love about you, you big sap. Where— where are we going?” she asked, noticing that he turned the car back around. “Ash are you lost? Do you want me to drive?” she asked, quite amused. He was a loser, but he was her loser. And she wasn’t going to let him go any time soon. If at all.

Sucking in a breath, she shifted a bit, loosening the belt buckle a bit so she could lean back against him completely, pulling her knees up to her chest and facing out the window. “My brother came to town.” she said simply. “I haven’t seen him in a few years so it was… yeah I wanted to see him. I want you to meet him.” she said, turning to face him with a smile. Two of the most important guys in her life had to know each other. “And yes to going to the UK together.” she smiled.

Her holding his hand settled the nerves that bubbled up as he spoke about the topic and he nodded. “Yeah. Much better.” He smiled reassuringly and took a left turn. Taking a detour as Tempest wouldn’t start getting suspicious of where he was going and start making assumptions. No no. She was going to do none of that.

“I know. And I’m grateful to have them, and I’m grateful to have you. So thank you.” He gave her hand a tight squeeze then, focusing on his driving and taking another turn.

He chuckled. “Just driving babe. I don’t think I even know where I’m going to be honest.” Partly true, since he hadn’t really driven this car since his birthday. Maybe once or twice, that was it. And he had to keep it here when he went back to Cheshire. “Tell me about you though. What have you been doing since I left? How was Mads tour?”

“Well that’s good, I’m glad.” she said in approval, smiling at his words. “You’re too sappy babe.” Tempest joked, kissing his cheek. “But hey, that’s what we do right? Just, be there for each other.” she said with a smile, happy that finally she had helped him out in some way, unlike how he’d always been the one to help her.

Leaning back against the seat, she smiled at the beautiful view and then turned to face Asher. How was she supposed to tell him about the tour without mentioning how she left early because of her father and brother?

But then she thought, no more running. It was time to just, tell him. So she would. Today. Not now, but some time today. But now was a good time and place to start.

“It was nice. Relaxing but it wasn’t really my thing, just sitting back and watching so I kind of… took over on several aspects of managing the tour.” she laughed, covering her face with her hands because that was totally something she’d do. “But I didn’t stay the whole time, I had to go and I’m sorry I wasn’t able to come to the UK. I really wanted to.” she said leaning onto his shoulder across her seat.
